Dear HIV/Infectious Disease Practitioner,
 
As you know, lipoatrophy is one of the most significant side effects of long term HIV treatment and disease.  Much attention has focused on facial lipoatrophy as a cosmetic and stigmatizing issue. 
 
However, sitting pain as a result of lipoatrophy in the buttocks and thighs is generally under reported.
 
This painful and debilitating condition dramatically affects your patient's in social and work situations.  It causes them to withdraw from many daily activities which contribute to the quality of life. 
 
LipoWear has studied the sitting pain problem with a limited number of HIV physicians and found that most patients do not make their physicians aware of this issue.
 
National Survey Needed
In order to better understand the full extent of this problem, LipoWear is conducting a nationwide survey of practices treating HIV patients and asks for your help.  A simple survey can be found by clicking here.
 
Please print the 1 page survey and ask 10 patients with HIV associated lipoatrophy the 2 simple questions on the survey.  Fax your results to the number indicated on the survey.
 
Results will be compiled and reported back to participating practices.
